You might be wondering what happens in a typical fitness bootcamp class. Well, each and every class begins with a brief warm up session designed to get the blood flowing and prepare the body for work. We don’t stretch at this time, as stretching prior to physical activity has been shows to hinder performance and even promote injury in some cases.
After our warm up, you’ll break off into stations where you’ll be working for periods of time followed by brief rests. This type of training is called HIIT or (High Intensity Interval Training), and has been shown to help participants burn more calories.
At each station you’ll be focusing on a different body part. Most workouts include a cardio station, a push/pull section, several lower body exercises, and of course core/ab exercises.
Do I Need To Be In Shape Already To Participate?
Absolutely not! All fitness levels and skill levels are welcome to train with us. It’s been our experience that the best way to get good at something is to just do it!
Do I Need Any Equipment?
Not really. A yoga mat would probably come in handy at times. Other than that, maybe a towel and water bottle. but that’s about it. We’ll provide the rest.
What Are The Classes Like?
Each class begins with a light warm-up to get the blood flowing, and to loosen up the joints to avoid injury. We do this with cardio and joint mobility exercises. From there it’s time to move onto the workout. We’ll work a series of drill incorporating strength and conditioning exercises, plyometrics, and core training. We do these workouts in short bouts of intense work followed by brief rest periods. After that, we’ll finish up with a cooldown and some light stretching.
